Dissemination of Our Work

Wiba Anung aims to disseminate information about our work and activities to a variety of audiences using multiple media outlets. The following description highlights some of our recent dissemination activities.

We participated in a group interview regarding our project was recently featured on the podcast, Nutrire CoLab.

We led a Virtual Learning Circle on Indigenous Food Sovereignty in Indigenous Early Childhood Practice sponsored by the Tribal Early Childhood Research Center.

We have presented our ongoing work at the following events, meetings, and academic conferences:

  • Native Children’s Research Exchange Conference
  • MSU’s Summer Intensive on Community Engaged Scholarship
  • Society for Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology Research’s (SPER) annual meeting
  • Native American Nutrition Conference
  • Engagement Scholarship Consortium International Conference

When it makes sense to do so, our team also strives to publish about our work in peer-reviewed journals. One paper was featured in Early Childhood Research Quarterly for their special issue on racism in the early years: “Stories and reflections on gikinawaabi: Recentering Indigenous knowledge in early childhood development through land-based practices.”

Lastly, we’re currently developing an exhibit that will be featured at MSU Museum’s upcoming show called “Food Fight!”. Our exhibit will be on display from January to July of 2024. An article describing the overall exhibit is available here: https://arts.msu.edu/story/beyond-collaboration/.
